The health care reform on health insurance is right around the corner. These changes will be the biggest to the health insurance market.
Do you know how health care reform will affect you?
If you have health insurance coverage already, there probably isn’t much to do but sit back and wait to see if your coverage will change .The health insurance companies have yet to release much information on how they will change their plans for the new year because they’re able to keep what you have for now. Some companies however have been leaving the health insurance market.
UnitedHealthOne has stepped in and said their health insurance changes will be no more than a slight price increase. They are even going the distance to say they will lock in your health plan for the entire year if you enroll by Dec. 2013. I personally don’t do a ton of business with them however this may be a game changer.
I’ve been talking with a lot of businesses and individuals on how to prepare for these health care reform. Especially for employers not offering plans now, this could mean thousands of dollars more each year! The one thing I can say is that if you do not have health insurance coverage now, there is no time like the present to sign up.
In 2014 if you do not elect any medical coverage, whether from the standard plans the Government is creating, your employer/family or on your own, expect to see a deduction for the penalty when you file taxes.
